This  coin  was  secured  for  Mr.  Thurston  by  Scott  & Co.,  at  their  Jonas 
sale,  Oct.  10,  1878,  for  $100.  Scott  informed  Mr.  Thurston:  “Fortu- 
nately it  was  our  turn  to  bid  the  $100, — Mr.  Cogan  bidding  $99.”

lated. Obverse  strong ; beautiful  color.  Very  rare
